Thеn thе hard раrt….passing ουr CDL tests. Thе written test аnԁ thе skills test. Thе 1st wk уου study tο take thе CDL written test аnԁ аftеr thе 3rd wk…уου take thе skills test whісh іѕ іn Jackson, GA аt thе DDS. Aѕ οf now аƖƖ bυt 1 οf ουr generation hаѕ gotten hіѕ Class A CDL.

@mcbam989 you will have hard time finding job as bus driver at your age lets say grayhound only hires 25 yr old and up plus you should get some exp with trucks before taking on 35 plus people !

School was fun. Not too hard for most ppl to drive big truck. You either get it or you don’t. Rarely does it happen a person never gets the hang of it. Whats hard is being away from home so long.
How did you like attending the school? was it hard for to adjust to driving such a large truck? wats the hardest thing about CDL school?….sorry for all the ?’s but im also considering this profession as a career and wanted some background info

I just graduated CDL school about 2 months ago, and all we had was 1 Freightliner Century Class that we could take out on the road, all our yard trucks were so shitty, i woulda killed for a Volvo with A/C for those 100 degree days of nothing but 45 degree backs lol

@raginh8r My school was 18 weeks, 20 hours a week. Then the company I am with requires driving with a trainer for 60k combined miles.
its possible to do 140 hours of training in 15 days, but each day has to be at least 12 hours
I wouldn’t want to share the road with anyone driving a big rig with only 15 days of training. But wait…the people are really nice. Guess that makes up for it. Geez.
15 days? holy… up North, schools are 30, at least…some go on for 5 mos! what b.s. does this school cut out to trim it down?

i think its messed up that in a cdl training vid, the pick up would be shown doing an ilegal u-turn… lol
